After years of waiting, the time has finally come. Fallout 4 is getting a ‘next-gen’ upgrade. What does Bethesda Game Studios have in store for players?
The update seems to coincide with the just released TV series on Amazon Prime. One that is well worth watching.
Let me start with the good news. The planned update is free. Players who own Fallout 4 can return to the Commonwealth starting April 25, 2024. There they can expect improved stability and performance in Bethesda’s open world. Players on the Xbox Series X|S will be able to play Fallout 4 in performance or quality mode.
This free upgrade for Xbox Series X|S includes native applications for the new consoles. The game’s update will be playable in 60 FPS and the resolution will also get a big boost.
In addition to the improved performance, stability improvements and fixes will also be added to improve the overall gameplay experience. Players can also get started with new content. The Eclave returns to the Commonwealth and players can take on a new mission, namely “Echoes of the Past”.
Finally, new weapons and outfits are also being added, including the Enclave Armor Skins, Tesla Cannon, Hellfire Power Armor and more.
All in all, a fairly nice upgrade for a game that is now almost 9 years old. The Xbox Series X|S upgrade of Fallout 4 can be played from April 25, 2024.
