Free up more space on your Xbox Series X by deleting parts of games

Last Friday, Larry Hryb, better known to Xbox gamers as Major Nelson and an important figure for Xbox Live, again held his weekly podcast. In here he spoke to Jason Ronald about the storage space of the Xbox Series X.

Like we indicated earlier, the Xbox Series X will come with about 800GB of usable storage space and expanding it with an SSD is overly expensive. Now Microsoft has indicated that it will lend a hand with a new system for the Series X. It will be possible to remove specific parts of games in order to free up space. For example, after a while, do you only play the multiplayer of your favorite shooter? Then you can remove the single player and it will not take up unnecessary space.

The only downside is that it must be specifically supported by the developers, so we cannot say at the moment how widespread this new feature will be deployed. Maybe almost every game will have it on the Xbox Series X, but it might be very minor. We will have to wait. The Xbox Series X | S will be released in the Netherlands on November 10.
