Mayor Constanza Lizana arrived at the Cerro Placilla Basic School, an establishment where one of the summer schools is operating, who enjoyed the joy of the boys and girls who at that time were cooling off in the pools and other views of the establishment as a sport. and artistic workshops.
Regarding these Summer Schools, the community leader expressed that “we invite all the communities of San Antonio, the boys, girls and young people so that they can enjoy different activities but above all have a space for recreation and entertainment, there are places left Therefore, come here, they operate from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., these include breakfast and lunch, let’s take advantage of the summer as a community.”
For his part, Sebastian Cortes, community coordinator of the Municipal Education Directorate, expressed that “the idea is to open spaces, there are many boys and girls in our community who do not have the opportunity to go on vacation, or even go to the beach. Therefore, the objective is for schools to be open very early so that parents, many of whom work, can relax as security and a diverse range of activities are offered so that they have a good time.
Meanwhile, Patricio Montecinos, monitor of the Summer School in Cerro Placilla, said that “it is important for us to be able to provide these spaces and give them a pleasant experience. We offer five workshops in our establishment in addition to giving them value aspects, which is something gratifying. The response from the boys and girls has been very good and we are happy with the number of participants, which to date has reached fifty.”
Finally, Vicente Pontigo, 17 years old and former student at the Cerro Placilla Basic School, expressed that “I was motivated to come because I am outdoors, sharing with friends, and learning many things that I did not know, this is a good alternative to summer entertainment so I invite other children and young people like me to participate.”
