Free show tickets for Quebec CEGEP students

Students from Cégep Garneau, Cégep de Sainte-Foy, Cégep Limoilou and Collège O’Sullivan will be able to take advantage of the promotion Come out to see! . An initiative launched by the City of Quebec in partnership with the government of Quebec and Culture Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches. In total, 2,500 pairs of tickets will be given to attend shows in 15 venues.

Students will be able to purchase tickets for more than 100 shows presented over the next year. Among the participating broadcasters, we find the La Bordée Theaterthe Quebec Musical Club, the Rhapsodes Choir, Le Diamant, the Imperial Bell, the Quebec Musical Improvisation Leaguethe Quebec Opera and several others.

Students will be able to attend extremely varied performances free of charge. This is an opportunity for this young audience to make discoveries and dare to explore cultural content outside their usual fields of interest.

In the same way as with On sort ensemble?a campaign launched by the City last fall which gave the right to a two-for-one deal on the purchase of show tickets, Come out to see! aims to encourage broadcasters from Quebec. With this type of promotion, the City hopes to encourage the population to visit performance halls more.

« […] Our goal is to facilitate access to the performing arts and encourage young adults to discover culture. By offering free access to Quebec City‘s broadcast rooms, we hope to make them want to return! », Mentions in a press release Ms. Catherine Vallières-Roland, responsible for culture on the executive committee.

To participate

Those who wish to take advantage of the promotion must complete a registration form provided by one of the participating schools. Between November 19 and 21, registrants will be able to choose a show presented between November 25, 2024 and November 30, 2025 in participating venues.

This project is part of the second phase of the Downtown Recovery Plan. Administered by the City of Quebec, it benefits from funding from the Ministry of the Economy, Innovation and Energy.

More details regarding this promotion and participating establishments can be found on the city’s website.
