Free Podium ‘Conspiracy’ for Rossi

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

ahead of MotoGP Valencia 2021 drivers like Fabio Quartararo and Francesco Bagnaia want to give free podiums to Valentino Rossi who will retire after the 2021 MotoGP ends.

Rossi has collected 199 podiums during his career. However, The Doctor’s dream to fulfill this record has been hampered by declining performance this season.

In order to realize Rossi’s dream, the racers admitted that they did not mind giving the senior racer a podium at the Valencia MotoGP.

“I will do it [memberikan podium] for him, but I don’t think Valentino would be happy if he got his 200th podium in that way,” Quartararo said as quoted by Speedweek.

“I think he will be happy, a podium is still a podium, but it is difficult to achieve,” added Bagnaia, who thought of other ways of paying tribute to Rossi such as the lap of honor after the finish flag flew.

While Joan Mir and Jack Miller have other predictions about the podium for Rossi at the 2021 Valencia MotoGP.

“Maybe he will surprise us and fight us, who knows,” said Mir.

“I think he has a lot of money. I’m a businessman, I’m always open to negotiations,” Miller said with a laugh.

The last time Rossi was on the podium was at the MotoGP Andalusia 2020 when he finished third.

This season Rossi’s best record is finishing in eighth place in the Austrian MotoGP race.
