Free Now Debt: Has stopped paying for services to Irish taxi drivers

Free Now, the taxi service app, has blamed a provider for ‘technical problems’ for delays in paying Irish taxi drivers for their services this week.

He insists that drivers will be paid “during the weekend” but is putting together a “contingency plan” in case this does not happen.

Many taxi drivers raised concerns this week after Free Now missed Wednesday’s deadline to transfer payments to passengers who pay for services through its app.

This is the second week in a row that occurs

The drivers say they were told the money owed this week would be in their accounts on Friday, but no payments have been made so far.

In practice, this means that drivers this week have not been charged for the services they have made with payment via credit or debit card, but that the old MyTaxi has charged.

“The external company that handles the driver payments on our behalf has informed us that the problem, which was due to a technical problem on their part, is being resolved.”

Free Now says that your provider has told you that payments will be processed over the weekend:

“We understand that this puts drivers in a difficult situation and, in parallel, we have a contingency plan internally to ensure that drivers are paid as soon as possible, regardless. We appreciate that this is unacceptable and thank the drivers for their patience while this is resolved.
