From the Coordination of the Provincial Program for the Early Detection of Breast Cancer, under the Ministry of Human Development, they reported that the sanitary truck is traveling, again, different towns in the interior, to carry out mammography studies and breast ultrasounds to women who must comply with its annual checks.
In this context, they commented that the campaign for the early detection of breast cancer extends throughout the year and is carried out throughout the province, through mammography teams provided by the public health system of the Province.
In this way, the sanitary truck equipped with a mobile mammography machine and ultrasound equipment carried out mammograms for the women of the towns of “El Espinillo and Misión Tacaaglé” and other nearby towns. To this, breast ultrasounds were also added, which is also part of the control for the early detection of breast cancer.
“In El Espinillo we did 44 mammograms and 26 ultrasounds. And in the town of Tacaaglé we performed 45 mammograms and 20 breast ultrasounds. We have everything organized so that at the end of the exam, we immediately deliver the result ”, they explained.
And they added that, if according to the reading, a suspicious case is detected, the patient’s turn is scheduled for consultation with the gynecologist at the nearest hospital, or, at the Hospital de la Madre y el Niño, or the High Complexity Hospital, according to the evaluation. “On this occasion, they were investigated with suspicion: 2 in El Espinillo and 6 in Tacaaglé, who already have their scheduled shifts.”
Regarding the work modality, they recalled that, as has been done habitually in each of the visits of the health mobile, “the shifts were granted in the previous days by the health team of the local hospital and the neighbors showed up for the agreed time, with your ID in hand as we always request ”.
The health team, in charge of the mobile mammography machine, was made up of doctors specializing in imaging and breast diagnosis, as well as diagnostic imaging technicians, who worked intensely to reach the largest number of patients with the studies. give them the best attention.
At the end, they commented that during these days the trailer will be replicating this activity in Laguna Naick Neck and in Riacho He Hé.
