In the same care center, and since last April 3, free mammography studies have been carried out and it is estimated that until the 28th of this month, the day the mobile team of the Province leaves the city, a total of 400 controls on women in the city are completed.
Regarding the new studies for the prevention of skin cancer, Mildred Chiapella, president of Arluc, explained to Puntal: “The 17th campaign for the prevention of skin cancer and control of moles is coming. This campaign was always done at the end of each year.”
On this occasion, the activity is scheduled for today starting at 9. And all those who want to make the consultation can go to the Hospital. Service will be in order of arrival.
There are seven professionals who arrive from the “Niño Jesús” Hospital in the city of Córdoba to carry out these controls.
Chiapella explained that those who come will receive a number to be attended.
“They will be in 3 offices of the Municipal Hospital. This is free of charge, they come from the Pediatric Hospital of the Child Jesus, in Córdoba. It is a procedure that is always carried out by the Secretary of Health of the local Municipality, in charge of Dr. Daniel Giorcelli, and also by Arluc”, stated the head of Arluc.
He also stressed that the control is for all people without age limit.
“It is important to get control of the moles to rule out the disease. Skin cancer prevention campaigns have been carried out for 17 years. They were not carried out during 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, and in 2022 they could not come due to the salary conflict between health professionals and the province. So they come back now, after the last time it was in 2019,” Chiapella said.
Regarding the response of the citizens, he explained that it has always been good and they expect a large presence.
400 mammograms
With respect to the breast cancer prevention campaign and the free studies carried out in the Mobile Mammograph of the province, it was reported that the shifts were sold out.
The team retires on Friday, April 28. His activity began in front of the hospital on April 3, and he will end up doing around 400 mammograms. “Everything has responded very well.” And Chiapella appealed to the neighbors who already have a turn not to miss this opportunity. “The last time the mammograph was in 2018. We are working hard from the Ministry of Health and Arluc, which has 11 women as members of the Association, and since 2005 we have been working on the prevention and fight against cancer.”
