Free Kick Goal Becomes Christian Atsu’s Last Moment

Christian Atsu confirmed to have died as a result Turkey earthquake. The free kick goal was the last moment for the former Chelsea and Newcastle United player.

After a major earthquake hit Turkey on February 6, Atsu was declared safe before being denied. Player Hatayspor was declared dead after on Saturday (18/2/2023).

Atsu’s body is found among the rubble of the building, which causes him to be buried and dies. This news made the world of football grieve.

Atsu himself closed his football career beautifully on the gridiron. He presented a free kick goal for Hatayspor.

The moment occurred several hours before the Turkey Earthquake occurred. Christian Atsu scored the winning goal for Hatayspor against Kasimpasa, last 5 February.

Towards the end of the fight, Atsu executed a free kick neatly. His left foot kick sent the ball into Kasimpasa’s goal. The goal made the Hatayspor public happy.

His colleagues at Hatayspor also hugs Atsu on the field. That moment, sadly, was to be his last in football.

Christian Atsu has played in the Premier League. Starting his career at Porto and Rio Ave, he then moved to Chelsea in 2013.

He struggled at Stamford Bridge, so he was loaned out to several clubs such as Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth, Malaga, before being made permanent by Newcastle United in 2017. He spent four seasons in The Toon Army uniform.

Atsu then moved to defend Saudi Arabian club Al Raed, before moving to Hatayspor this season.

At the national team level, Atsu is also part of the Ghana squad. He has 65 caps and scored 10 goals, including playing at the 2014 World Cup.

RIP, Christian Atsu.
