Hamburg. In addition to the snowfall on Friday, which is rare by Hamburg standards, another spectacle occurred on Saturday evening. A huge wall of smoke covered the city in a thick veil. At around 10 p.m., strollers at the port of Hamburg saw the smoke screen coming up from the southwest, and within a few minutes the other side of the Elbe was no longer visible. Foghorns could be heard, a rare spectacle for Hamburg.
