NEW YORK – Just over a year after Hurricane Ida hit the New York area, funds are now available to help those whose homes and businesses have been affected, according to the emergency and security services New York State National. York Interfaith Disaster Services.
Residents of the following counties and districts are eligible for assistance (Bronx, Brooklyn, Dutchess, Manhattan, Nassau, Orange, Putnam, Queens, Rockland, Staten Island, Suffolk, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester).
After the storm hit the local area on August 26, 2021, government officials gave the green light to nearly $ 800 million to help the local population recover and rebuild.
In New York City, resources available for recovery include clothing and furniture banks, domestic violence services, financial resources, food assistance, housing, legal services, mental health services, and assistance for military veterans and families.
“Registration is now open for the New York State Ida Disaster Dipper Management program,” tweeted NYDIS. “Call us if you’ve been hit by external flooding and still need help.”
