If you went to the cinema during the weekend, you may have chosen the new Free Guy, which arrived in our cinemas with Czech dubbing and a 3D version (for cinemas equipped with the necessary technology). Actor Ryan Reynolds, who has become famous in recent years in films about Deadpool, acts as a bank clerk living in a very wild city full of shootings and explosions. One day, he discovers that his world is in fact an online video game, and he himself is a mere NPC. Of course, he decides to do something about it. On his twitter, Reynolds has now confirmed that Disney has already officially expressed interest in the second part of the film:

Personally, I also went to the film over the weekend and I had quite a good time, although it is very obvious (not only thanks to dubbing) that the film is primarily intended for children, especially Fortnite fans, from whom it takes the most inspiration. But there will also be a number of links to other games or movies. Reynolds is as fun as ever, and the entire film is reminiscent of a much more telling variation on the Mythic Quest series, including real-world insights where game developers try to understand what the NPC in the game has begun to do to them. So if you’re in the mood for a simple but fun Fortnite bag, the movie is worth seeing. Instead, more demanding viewers can re-launch Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, which I believe is shamefully underappreciated.
