The discussion relating to electrical innovation within the automotive sector is continuous and never banal. An evolution of the four wheels that in 2035 should lead to a total (or almost) revolution in every corner of Europe. At least this is the wish of the European Union. But about the ongoing debate between before (internal combustion vehicles) and after (electric mobility), what happened in the United States is truly unbelievable.
A story that sees a politician as the protagonist, who took the field to defend heat engines and demand the same benefits that are and will be destined for electric cars. We are talking about Ben Moss, a Republican who is part of the North Carolina House of Representatives. The politician followed up on a bill that represents the “second chapter” compared to a tweet previously published in early July.
Discounts for petrol cars? The proposal displaces the world of cars
Simply put, according to Moss, taxpayers – citizens, therefore – shouldn’t foot the bill for free charging stations on state or local government-owned land. Unless the same locations also offer free petrol or diesel. This is the concept dictated by Ben Moss that it basically intends to ban free charging for electric cars in the state in which there are no classic and free refueling stations in the surroundings.
Of course, it has not been explicitly stated, but it is clear that this is a very aggressive position on the subject in question. A bill on “fair and free” refueling stations, which also includes a credit of 50 thousand dollars planned for 2022/23 and aimed at removing “non-compliant” columns. A political action that will hardly find a real application. Also because, as things stand, electric cars represent the future of mobility and are loudly requested by politics.
Moreover, many manufacturers have long since turned to such silent and zero-emission engines. In addition, the diffusion of free fuel would be decidedly heavier and more expensive than the distribution of electricity at no cost; we are still talking about a rather limited number of vehicles. Moss’s position is and will certainly be discussed, but it is unlikely that it will be taken into consideration and therefore actually implemented.
