American actor of Swedish origin Dolph Lundgren announced that he has finished cancer treatment, which lasted about 9 years.
“I’m here at the University of California, and I have to get rid of the last tumor. There are no more cancer cells in my body; I think I will be cancer free, I am looking forward to this procedure,” he said. – he said in a video on his social network page.
In 2015, Lundgren was diagnosed with a malignant neoplasm in the kidney; cancerous lesions were later found in the liver, lungs, stomach and in the spinal region.
Doctors gave the artist about three years to live. However, the day before he had undergone one last procedure – lung ablation, when cancer cells are destroyed by high-frequency thermal energy without surgery.
“I went through a tough journey, and it taught me to live in the moment and enjoy every moment. Otherwise, you cannot live,” – concluded the actor, thanking his fans for their support.
Among the treatments that the artist secretly received, he starred in many films: two parts of Aquaman, The Expendables 4, Blacker Than Water, On Wheels, the Russian project Groom 2 and the animated film Minions: Gruvitation .
According to Lundgren, the doctor who found the tumor in his liver told him he had several years to live. After this, the artist not only began to spend more time with his family, but also turned to another oncologist, who prescribed another treatment.
“If I had stayed with the first doctor, I would have lived only three or four months. – said the actor.
Dolph Lundgren became famous after one of his first roles in the movie “Rocky 4”, he played the Russian boxer Ivan Drago. Now the artist is 67 years old, during his career he has participated in more than 80 projects.
