District office cooperates with consumer advice center as part of the climate protection offensive.
(BZ). The district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald is now offering free and independent energy advice services for private households in the district in cooperation with the Baden-Wrttemberg consumer center. According to a report from the District Office, private households have the largest share of energy consumption in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district. Therefore, those responsible would like to see more energy-saving measures implemented in existing buildings in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This is where the district wants to start with the offer of free energy advice, so the message. The district office offers three types of energy checks. On the one hand, the building check, which deals with the energetic state of a house or apartment. The building check assesses the electricity and heat consumption, the heating system and the building shell and, according to the district office, shows potential savings. In addition, the district office offers a so-called suitability check for heating. This offer should help with a planned heating exchange or the switch to renewable energies. During the solar heat check, the potential of a solar thermal system should be analyzed in order to fully exploit it. The energy consultants then check, for example, whether the storage tank and collectors are compatible and whether the system is communicating correctly with the boiler. The advice is carried out on site by independent energy consultants who have to meet the high quality requirements of the consumer advice center, according to the district office. In addition to the energy advisors, who get an idea of the situation on site, the consumer center offers free energy advice at two advisory points. In Freiburg at Kaiser-Joseph-Strasse 271 and in Titisee-Neustadt in the town hall in Neustadt. However, these are currently closed to the public due to the corona pandemic.
