Dear DY Families,
As a district we have much to be proud of this year. We have successfully navigated a very challenging time during the pandemic. With the exception of moving to full-remote learning for a few days around the December holidays we have been open for in-person learning since September. Our staff, students, and families are to be congratulated for following the protocols that made this possible.
However, in the last two weeks there has been an increase in COVID cases on Cape Cod. We are also seeing more active cases in our schools than we have ever had previously. This is not at a level where we are seeing in-school spread or feel we need to move our entire district to full remote.
Nevertheless, we believe that we should take some proactive steps to ensure we can continue in-person learning. One of the steps we will take now is to provide free COVID surveillance testing for all Dennis-Yarmouth students, staff, and families to protect our schools and community from in-school spread and/or asymptomatic spread. Students and staff can continue in school while they await results. Since this is surveillance testing there is no reason to quarantine.
Free COVID testing will be available for all Dennis-Yarmouth students, staff, and families on the following dates at these locations:
Wednesday, March 24 at Mattacheese Middle School (gymnasium) from 12:00 (noon)-6:00 p.m.
400 Higgins Crowell Road, West Yarmouth
Friday, March 26 at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School (gymnasium) from 12:00 (noon)-6:00 p.m.
210 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth
Monday, March 29 at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School (gymnasium) from 12:00 (noon)-6:00 p.m.
210 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth
Students who attend school in these locations may be tested while at school with a signed parent/guardian consent form. Otherwise parents may take their child to either of these locations during the hours listed above to be tested. All family members are welcomed to be tested, too. Consent forms will be available on site, if needed.
We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and help us keep COVID out of our schools, so we can continue the great in-person learning that has taken place all year.
Best wishes,

Dear DY families,
As a district, we have a lot to be proud of this year. We have successfully navigated a very challenging time during the pandemic. With the exception of the move to totally remote learning for a few days around the December vacation, we have been open for face-to-face learning since September. Our employees, students and families are to be congratulated for following the protocols that made this possible.
However, in the past two weeks, there has been an increase in COVID cases on Cape Cod. We are also seeing more active cases in our schools than ever before. This is not a level where we are seeing a spread within the school or feel that we need to move our entire district to remote control.
However, we believe that we must take some proactive steps to ensure that we can continue face-to-face learning. One of the steps we will take now is to provide free COVID surveillance testing to all Dennis-Yarmouth students, staff and families to protect our schools and community from in-school spread and / or asymptomatic spread. Students and staff can continue at the school pending results. As this is a surveillance test, there is no reason to quarantine.
The free COVID test will be available to all Dennis-Yarmouth students, staff and families on the following dates at these locations: –

210 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth
Monday, March 29 at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School (gym) from 12:00 (noon) to 6:00 pm

Otherwise, parents can take their children to any of these locations during the times listed above to be tested. All family members are also welcome. We hope you will take this opportunity and help us keep COVID out of our schools, so that we can continue the great face-to-face learning that took place throughout the year.

Dear DY Families:
As a district, we have a lot to be proud of this year. We have been through a very challenging time successfully during the pandemic. With the exception of moving into full distance learning for a few days around December break, we have been open for in-person learning since September. However, in the last two weeks there has been an increase in COVID cases on Cape Cod. We are also seeing more active cases in our schools than ever before. This is not at a level where we are seeing a spread within the school or we feel we need to move our entire district to a completely remote level.
However, we believe that we need to take some proactive steps to ensure that we can continue learning in person. One of the steps we will take now is to provide free COVID surveillance testing for all Dennis-Yarmouth students, staff, and families to protect our schools and community from within-school spread and / or asymptomatic spread.
