On this Good Friday, April 7th, the Jakobuskirche in Pullach is the venue for the performance of one of the most beautiful baroque compositions for Passiontide – the “Stabat Mater” by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. The Italian composer set the medieval lament to music shortly before his death, at the age of only 26: With sonorous affects, expressive harmonies and moving lyrics, he expresses Mary’s grief over the death of her son Jesus on the cross. There will also be music by Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel and Vivaldi. Performing: members of the Augsburg Philharmonic and church musician Aldo Brecke as well as the alto A-Reum Lee and the soprano Sarah Williamson. The concert starts at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
