Free concert by Los Yaguarú and Grupo Cañaveral announced for Mother’s Day in CDMX

Readying the best steps to shine on the great dance floor that Mexico City will make, the CDMX Government announced the activities they will carry out to celebrate May 10, Mother’s Day, and thus recognize all the mothers of the country’s capital.

Martí Batres Guadarrama, Head of Government of CDMX, announced a free dance that will take place at the Monument to the Revolution. The CDMX 2024 Mother’s Day festival will be completely free, as well as other events that have been held in the Zócalo.

“Grand Dance for Mother’s Day 2024” is the name of the concert dedicated to all the capital’s mothers. Among the main artists that will be presented, the presence of Los Yaguarú and Grupo Cañaveral of Humberto Pavón stands out, however, they will not be the only ones who will perform in concert.

During his press conference this Sunday, May 5, the Head of Government of CDMX shared all the details of the festival on the occasion of May 10.

The “Grand Dance for Mother’s Day 2024” will be on Saturday, May 11 at the Monument to the Revolution. There the stage will be set so that capital families can enjoy the hits of Los Yaguarú and the most popular songs of Grupo Cañaveral.

From noon on Saturday the festival activities for mothers will begin, according to what Martí Batres shared, unlike other free concerts, this one will end around 5:00 p.m., according to the capital authorities.

“The Government of Mexico City is going to hold a big dance for Mother’s Day next Saturday, May 11, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with tropical music, with live Afro-Antillean music, at the Monument to the Revolution. A free concert for mothers who like to attend, a completely open activity for mothers on this day,” shared Martí Batres.

Although the star artists of the May 11 event are Grupo Cañaveral de Humberto Pavón and Los Yaguarú they will not be the only ones who will perform at the concert. The capital authorities shared that there will be two more groups that will be part of the free event, including a mariachi made up of women.

On the other hand, the Head of Government of CDMX pointed out that this weekend will be very important for the city’s restaurant sector, as well as the tourism sector, which is why he highlighted the economic impact that May 10 will have in the capital.

He invited the population to take advantage of this weekend to be part of the activities that the CDMX Government has planned, such as the big dance.

“It is a day of a very important economic impact, of a lot of economic activity. We estimate that there will be an economic impact of 3,595 million pesos, that is, 25% more than what was recorded on the same dates last year,” he explained.

It should be remembered that May 10, 2024 will fall on a Friday, so school activities will take place, there will be no suspension of classes, according to the Ministry of Public Education (SEP).
