Free bus ride in Abu Dhabi | 01Jan2021

Abu Dhabi : Permission for free bus travel in the city. It aims to activate public transport in the wake of the introduction of the toll system on January 2. Free bus travel can be availed only after boarding private vehicles and parking at bus checkpoints. According to the Comprehensive Transport Center, this will provide an opportunity for private vehicle users to avoid paying tolls to and from the city. There are 500 parking facilities each in Mohammed bin Zayed City and Shahama.

Those who commute to the city daily can avoid the toll and travel on public buses from these places. The ‘Park and Ride’ scheme offers two free services a day, 104 and 411.

The service is from Saturday to Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The service will be available during rush hours from 6 to 9 in the morning and from 4 to 9 in the evening at 20 minute intervals. The rest of the time the service will be at 60 minute intervals. The service will be provided by a 24-seater bus, subject to conditions including social distance. A special service card is required for this service. For three people, including the driver of a private vehicle

Park & ​​Ride service card is easily available. This card is valid for one day only. Can be used any number of times on the same day of delivery. The cards will not be sold on buses and the fine for traveling without the card is 200 dirhams.

The bus route is as follows

Service No. 104: The bus departs from Al Huaim in Mohammed bin Zayed City via the main bus terminal in Abu Dhabi, Etisalat Building, Qasr Al Hossain, Sheikh Rashid Bin Zayed Street and Khalifa Street. It will take about 50 minutes.

Service No. 411: Starting from Shahama, Abu Dhabi Main Bus Terminal, Mariam Bin Zayed Mosque in Al Dana, Abu Dhabi Central Post Office, Sheikh Khalifa in Al Dana and Sultan Bin Zayed Streets. It is a 50 minute drive.
