Head of BPOM Penny K Lukito said that the antibody titers obtained by residents after the Covid-19 vaccination were observed to have decreased, so that new antigen injections through booster vaccinations were needed to provide additional protection.
“Immunogenicity data from observations of clinical test results from all Covid-19 vaccines show a significant decrease in antibody levels to below 30 percent, occurring after 6 months of complete primary vaccine administration,” said Penny at a press conference, Monday (10/1). ).
Previously, the Director of Prevention and Control of Directly Infectious Diseases (P2PML) of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, noted that so far the cases of the Omicron variant in Indonesia have reached 414 cases. Although the majority of cases are imported or come from foreign travelers, 50 of them are cases of local transmission.
“The peak of cases is around the first or second week of February 2022,” Nadia told CNNIndonesia.com, Tuesday (11/1).
Head of the Health Handling Division of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) Alexander K. Ginting assessed that currently the increase in daily cases of the corona virus in Indonesia has not shown a wave to peak.
“The waves will turn into ripples that just float around, occurring after 4-6 weeks after the holidays,” said Alex when contacted CNNIndonesia.com, Tuesday (11/1).
Alex then asked the local government to swiftly implement a micro-lockdown if community transmission clusters were found in their environment, especially due to the distribution of the Omicron variant.
