From the Directorate of Bromatology of the Municipality of Olavarría it is reported that next Thursday, June 1, a new anti-rabies vaccination operation will be available on the Paseo de la Salud.
It was detailed that the conference will take place on the promenade located on Almirante Brown and Belgrano, from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
It is a task that is carried out in a complementary way to the annual calendar, every last Thursday of the month until November inclusive, but that in the current month of May had to be rescheduled due to the national holiday on May 25, the date on which commemorates the Revolution of 1810.
It is recalled that the rabies vaccine is annual and mandatory, which is why Municipal Bromatology offers the service free of charge and without shift. It is only requested that the animals be moved by an adult, with a collar, leash/pretal and muzzle if necessary, and the cats inside a carrier bag or kennel.
Finally, it was explained that it is an additional measure to what is normally carried out throughout the year at the Municipal Veterinary Care Center, where all those residents interested in vaccinating their animals can visit the Bromatology property, located at Avenida Urquiza 5493 , from Monday to Friday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
How is rabies transmitted?
In our area, the virus reservoir is bats, which feed on insects, do not attack animals or humans, but when they are sick they can fall on roofs, patios or on public roads and be found by our pets. which will approach instinctively (to play or hunt) and can be bitten by them.
How to prevent rabies?
Prevention is carried out through the annual vaccination of dogs and cats, starting at 3 months of age.
