– The food center estimates that the need is actually much greater and they think they can distribute twice as much food as today, says Solvang before breaking down in tears during the programme.
– When you get the stats backing up what those affected have said, it becomes very true, she says.
The food center facilitates the redistribution of food surpluses from the food industry to non-profit organizations that help underprivileged people.
