Frédéric Viseur Appointed as Secretary General for Regional Affairs

Pierre-André Durandprefect of Haute-Garonne and the Occitanie region announced the October 20, 2023 the appointment of Frédéric Visseur as Secretary General for Regional Affairs (SGAR). He succeeds Nicolas Hesse.

Currently deputy to the director of innovation, logistics and technologies at the Paris police headquarters, Frédéric Viseur carried out a rich career in public service since 2005. His professional activity is marked by positions both in the territorial administration of the State but also in local authorities.

At the start of his career, as sub-prefect, he served as cabinet director within the prefecture of the Franche-Comté region. The man also held the position of deputy general director, financial director, finance and audit department of the Oise department in 2010; then deputy general director, resources development center but also general director of services of the Pas-de-Calais department, respectively in 2011 and 2012 and finally, sub-prefect of Mantes-la-Jolie in 2015.

Frédéric Viseur also worked in central administration. First in 2008, within the general directorate of local authorities as head of the local budgets and financial analysis office, then in 2017, at the general directorate of the national police, as deputy director of administration human resources.

As SGAR, Frédéric Viseur will now be responsible for representing and assisting the regional prefect in his actions to coordinate national and European public policies (water, agriculture, mountains, coastline, mobility, land use planning, culture, economy, employment and solidarity), in close collaboration with regional and departmental State services.

He also has responsibility for the management of resources within the scope of state territorial administration (prefectures, interministerial departmental directorates and regional directorates) and drives all actions to modernize resources.
