Fred van Leer reacted on Thursday for the first time on video to the leakage of his sex video last week and his subsequent hospitalization last weekend. The stylist and presenter says in a video on Instagram that he will tell his story once.
“Dear people”, Van Leer begins. “I start this video with a sigh. (…) The film that has leaked, I will not go into that further. ” The stylist calls it “awful” for him and for the people who have seen it. “That is a given, I have to give it a place. That is an open wound, that heals, but remains a scar forever. ”
‘In blind panic’
The TV personality then talks about his past week. “On Wednesday I was told by a number of people via Instagram that a video of me was circulating,” he says. “Then you have lost your way and it seems as if the world is leaving your feet. In that blind panic, I didn’t know what to do with my feelings. Thank goodness I have a lot of good people around me. ”
“I got more and more messages”, Van Leer continues. “I went out in complete panic. Sadness, anger… I don’t think I need to explain it to you. ” That evening he says he went to a very good friend who took him in “in a blind panic”. “Then the whole circus started. Police, detective, an ambulance, because everyone was concerned. At that moment the direction is taken over. ”
Brought to clinic
Van Leer confirms that he was indeed admitted to a clinic, but was discharged within 24 hours. He then went to his friends, where a crisis meeting was held. “They said: We are going to make sure that Fred is not alone for the time being,” the stylist says in tears. “We’re going to take care of him, we love him. And that was very nice. We cooked, talked, cried; everything you do with your friends. ”
He also says that his phone was taken because it received a lot of “trash” and misery. “Not knowing that I received a lot of love on it later.” He says he got through well on Saturday. “(…) Have people been with me, had a very nice day. (…) That night I went to bed, slept badly, friends stayed the night. ”
Sunday went wrong
A day later it went wrong, according to the TV personality. “I still got to hear messages via email and even though I didn’t have a phone. (…) I secretly checked on another phone anyway. The first thing you see is a number of reactions. (…) I was in complete panic. ”
He says – without going into details – that he subsequently did something to himself. “Because there are so many good people in my area, including people who are doctors, they have been able to act very quickly and accurately. I am still here because of these people, the ambulance, the police and the fire brigade. And I am very grateful for that. ”
‘I have to heal’
Van Leer says that he is now doing well. “I have to heal, I want to rest. I also want to get back to work soon, because I have enough strength to start making fun again and to be humorous and make fun programs. ”
He emphasizes to the stylist that “has a very large safety net”, “but a lot of people don’t”. “It ends wrong with that. I would like to urge you: watch the video if necessary, throw it off your phone, but do not forward it. The consequences are incalculable. I can handle it.”
