Fred Savage (Chicago, 45 years old) protagonist of the series Those wonderful years (1988-1993) has been fired during the filming of its sequel, where he worked as director and executive producer, for inappropriate behavior, according to Variety magazine,

According to the publication, several employees complained about his conduct while filming the series, although the exact reasons for the dismissal have not been made public. However, a Disney spokesperson has confirmed the accusations and Savage’s departure.

In a statement, the production company states: “Recently, we became aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Fred Savage and, as is standard, an investigation has been launched. Upon completion, the decision was made to terminate his contract as executive producer and director of Those wonderful years.

This is not the first time accusations have been made against the actor’s conduct. In 1993, costume designer Monique Long accused the actor of sexual harassment. In 2018, Century Fox Television again investigated Savage’s conduct in The Grinder, where a worker from the wardrobe team Younjoo Hwang accused him of creating “an extremely hostile work environment”, showing aggressive behavior, intimidating and using constant insults directed at female employees.

Savage responded that the allegations were “absolutely false.” “I have worked in the entertainment industry all my life and have always striven to treat everyone on set with respect and professionalism.” According to 20th Century Fox Television, producer of the series, they took “all complaints of inappropriate behavior very seriously” and assured that they carried out an investigation after Hwang’s complaints but found no evidence of any misconduct on the part of the actor.
