Nisha Ganatra, known for her work on Hulu’s “Welcome to Chippendale’s,” has been chosen to direct “Freaky Friday 2.” The Disney sequel will see the return of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, reprising their roles from the beloved 2003 comedy.

The rumors surrounding a “Freaky Friday” sequel have finally been confirmed. In October 2022, Jamie Lee Curtis revealed on “The View” that she had already written to Disney regarding a potential sequel. Both Curtis and Lindsay Lohan have expressed their interest in reuniting for another body-swapping comedy.

Last Friday, Curtis Instagrammed a photo with Lohan, tagging Disney and captioning the snap, “DUH! FFDEUX!”

When released in 2003, Disney’s “Freaky Friday” grossed an impressive $160 million worldwide. With the potential of the sequel generating equal excitement, producer Andrew Gunn, along with former Disney executive Kristin Burr, will produce the film. Disney has yet to announce the release plan, including both a date and whether it will have a theatrical or streaming debut.
