The public prosecutor (JPU) presented Iwan Purwanto to report Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo in case of a fake pass Djoko Tjandra. During the trial, Prasetijo looked angry and asked questions regarding the reasons for reporting on him.
The trial was held at the East Jakarta District Court, Jl. Dr. Sumarno, Cakung, Tuesday (3/11/2020). Witness Iwan is known to be a member of Subdit 5 Bareskrim Polri. Iwan also said that he was Prasetijo’s subordinate at Bareskrim, although not directly.
Prasetijo himself followed the proceedings via virtual, which was displayed on the screen in the courtroom. During the trial, Prasetijo asked why Iwan reported himself.
The former Karo Korwas PPNS Bareskrim Polri sounded angry because he asked a question in a high tone. Occasionally Prasetijo is seen raising his hand and pointing at the camera.
“You mentioned earlier reporting, what is the reason for reporting?” he said.
Answering the question, Iwan admitted that he reported on the instructions from his superiors. Iwan mentioned the name of the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Pol Ferdy Sambo.
“I was asked by the leadership,” said Iwan.
Prasetijo then asked the name of the leader in question. He also asked why his boss was not reporting.
“Who’s in charge?” asked Prasetijo.
“Kombes (currently the rank of Brigadier General) Pol Ferdy Sambo,” replied Iwan.
“Why don’t the direct superiors dare to report?” asked Prasetijo again.
“I followed orders,” said Iwan.
