Head of PPATK Ivan Yustiavandana stated that the Rp. 2 trillion check at the official residence of former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) was a fraudulent check.
“Fake,” Ivan said detikcomTuesday (17/10/2023).
The KPK found this document when they searched the official residence. At that time, SYL was on a working visit to Europe.
“There are so many documents in society,” said Ivan.
What’s the point of that fake check?
“Made by fraudsters with the method of asking for administration fees, news bank officers and others. “It was promised that if it was disbursed, it would be divided into a certain percentage as a commission,” answered Ivan.
As is known, a search of SYL’s official residence in the South Jakarta area was carried out by KPK investigators Thursday (28/9). Apart from finding a check for IDR 2 trillion, the Corruption Eradication Commission found cash worth IDR 30 billion and 12 firearms.
“After we checked and confirmed, we obtained information that it was true that there was the evidence in question,” said Head of the KPK News Division, Ali Fikri, when asked for confirmation, Monday (16/10). He answered the question of finding a check for IDR 2 trillion at SYL’s official residence.
Regarding the discovery of checks with fantastic value, Ali stated that the Corruption Eradication Commission needed to confirm these findings with various parties. His party will ensure that this check is related to the case being investigated or not.
