Ratzeburg (dpa) – An 84-year-old senior was saved from a scam by her bank. The woman from Aumühle near Hamburg had received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number. In it, someone posed as her son and asked if she could make a transfer for him. He couldn’t access his online banking.
The old lady believed that and wanted to transfer 2,500 euros to the specified bank account. However, since the transfer details were incorrect, the money was not booked. A little later her house bank got in touch with her and the scam was exposed.
