While a good part of the Senegalese online press returned, this Friday, to this story of fraud involving 100,000 francs to the prejudice of Touba Ca Kanam and incriminating a member of the local press, the aforementioned association held to make some details. In a statement sent to Dakaractu-Touba, the structure first preferred to express its dismay before releasing its responsibility.
According to Serigne Fallou Ndiaye, President of the communication unit, “after cross-checking, it was discovered that it was indeed a sum handed over to a member of the local press in Touba by a emigrated. ” Only, he mentions, “the money has not yet been paid into the coffers of the structure and the person accused is not a member of the structure, as he would have declared”. He adds, after elsewhere, that “the receipt given to the lady is counterfeit and absolutely illegal”.
With this in mind, Serigne Fallou Ndiaye will release Touba Ça Kanam from responsibility in this case.
In defense of the journalists of the locality who are, he says, privileged partners of Touba (correspondents and online press included), he will hammer out that the act is isolated and concerns only one person. “Touba Ca Kanam regrets the fact that the name of the press is involved in this affair in view of the countless services that journalists continue to render to the association.”
As a reminder, the Touba Ça Kanam association will take advantage of this regrettable event to point out to the populations that “the structure has clearly determined the channels to be used for financial and or in-kind contributions. Telephone numbers approved at the level of services of money transfer are officially specified in the advertising media as are bank accounts, headquarters are installed in Dakar and Touba and a finance commission has been created from the start for transparency. ”
It should be noted that Touba Ca Kanam also wishes to open an investigation so that no one ignores it.
