Fratelli d’Italia Maintains Leading Party Status, but Faces Declining Support in New Poll

Fratelli d’Italia manages to get to the first assembly with the role of leading party of the government without the worry of a minus sign in the polls. But it’s a relative relief. According to the new Swg-Radar survey, the decline in support recorded at the end of the summer break has stopped and Giorgia Meloni it may show a recovery of three tenths compared to last week and stands at 28.5 percent. It is still not enough to return to the levels of the end of July, when the party with the flame in its symbol was traveling on figures of 19.4 percent still in the wake of the post-election honeymoon. In short, the shadow of economic hardship, the cuts in Superbonus and citizen’s income and the conflict over the minimum wage still seem to have a negative impact on the orientation of the electorate.

But if the main government force chases lost positions, the first opposition party is also struggling: in the last week the Democratic Party has seen almost half a percentage point of consensus disappear, despite the long wave of the “militant summer” desired by Elly Schlein and the showcase of the national Unity celebration. The Dems dropped to 19.4 percent, tormented by the discontent that emerged in recent days and only partially quelled after the peacemaking speech given by the secretary in Ravenna. He seems to take advantage of it Carlo Calendawhich welcomed the Ligurian dem defectors and sees its action advance by three tenths and reach 3.8 percent which significantly leaves the former partner of the third pole Matteo Renzi: Italia Viva – a brand that will be supplanted by the Center at the European Championships – loses two tenths and stops at 2.6 percent.

On the left, the 5 Star Movement makes significant gains, confirming its third place with 17.4. In the center-right camp, Lega and Forza Italia also maintain their positions: 9.6 percent and 6.4 percent.
