At the beginning of December, you celebrated your birthday. How do you feel?
“I would like to say that in proportion to his age. But on Friday January 13th, consider the symbolism, I had a stroke. You are the first newspaper I tell this to, because you have always written about us seriously. And I would also like to help everyone who finds themselves in a similar situation and advise them with my experience on returning to a normal life.”
I have to say you look good, I wouldn’t recognize anything about you. How did it happen?
“Thursday night I suddenly felt like I was on a merry-go-round during the performance. The hall started spinning with me, I knew something was happening. I worked on the computer at home for a while, but by Friday morning it was already bad. Eva couldn’t wake me up, she said I had a droopy corner and was talking nonsense. It wasn’t until I got to the hospital that I found out that a helicopter had taken me there. I thought I was in an ambulance.’

How long did they keep you in the hospital?
“About three months. When I was discharged they told me I was fine. Gradually I started to exercise and I feel good.’
You divide your time between the USA and the Czech Republic, so you always spend the winter in the warmth of Florida. But this year you stayed at home in Klepačov alone. So you celebrated Kulatiny without your family, only with friends and fans, some of whom came to see you from abroad. Why?
“Yes, from approximately October to April we are in America and my daughter stays there more often. This year, we did it for the first time in order for Eva to check in practice whether she can handle the performance without my presence. Because we have a lot of contracts there and I have a lot of technical work here.”
