Frankfurt/Main (dpa) – The Bundesliga starts the 2025/2026 season on August 22 next year. This emerges from the framework calendar approved by the Presidium of the German Football Association (DFB) in Frankfurt am Main. The 34th game day in the upper house will take place on May 16, 2026. The last day before the winter break will take place between December 19 and 21, 2025.
The final of the DFB Cup will be played in Berlin on 23 May 2026. The first round of the cup is scheduled for 15 August to 18 August, which is, as usual, a week before the first match day in the Bundesliga. In addition, this season’s champions and cup winners will play for the German Football League (DFL) Supercup on August 16. Both teams will therefore enter the DFB Cup later – on 26 and 27 August.
As in previous years, the season for two-level football teams will start a little earlier this time. The opening game will take place on 1 August. The 3rd league will start their season in the same week. While the second division season ends on May 17, the final third day of the third division is scheduled for May 16.
