On Wednesday afternoon there was a spectacular accident in an underground car park in Frankfurt am Main, in which a person was trapped and injured.

At around 2 p.m., the Frankfurt fire station received an emergency call that informed them of the incident in the Oberrad district of Frankfurt.
The rescuers immediately moved to the underground car park in the street Am Nonnenpfad and were initially quite puzzled by the picture that was presented to them. At the same time, the fire chiefs were aware of the seriousness of the situation.
Because as a fire department spokesman announced in a corresponding tweet, a person was locked in their car after an accident in a double parking garage.

Previously, for a reason that was not yet fully understood, the car had slipped over the parking platform and fell backwards from it, so that the car was wedged almost upright between the wall and the platform below.
With great difficulty, the fire brigade finally managed to free the trapped person from their predicament and hand them over to the rescue service. It is not yet known whether the driver had just made a mistake when parking backwards or whether the accident was caused by a technical mishap on the car or the construction of the parking lot.
Because the exact cause of the unusual accident as well as the severity of the injuries to the trapped person are now part of the further investigations to which the Frankfurt police subsequently devoted themselves.
