In Frankfurt-Höchst, a vehicle is reported in the Main. The fire brigade and rescue workers are on duty for several hours. The search continues.
Frankfurt – In the Höchst district of Frankfurt, a large contingent of fire brigades and rescue services were deployed late on Tuesday evening (March 1st, 2022). As reported by the German Press Agency (dpa), several passers-by reported a car in the Main.
According to the fire brigade, the operation ran for several hours in the waterway area. The special water rescue service was also active on site.

Around 9:30 p.m., several boats searched the water surface of the Main for the vehicle. Like the fire department Frankfurt* writes on Twitter, among other things, sonar technology was used for locating under water. The fire brigade was supported by colleagues from the DLRG and the factory fire brigade from Industriepark Höchst.
The extensive operation was finally broken off around 11:30 p.m. and the area was handed over to the responsible water police. “Despite an intensive and technically complex search, the vehicle could not be located,” writes the fire department. A police spokesman announced on Wednesday morning (March 2nd, 2022) that the search would continue as soon as the light conditions made it possible.
