Mario Götze returns to the Bundesliga. Eintracht Frankfurt announces the signing of the 30-year-old world champion from 2014. The attacking player has signed a contract with SGE that runs until 2025.

Götze’s working paper at PSV Eindhoven would have expired in 2024. The transfer is made possible by an exit clause of three million euros. Benfica Lisbon around Götze’s ex-coach Roger Schmidt and the MLS club Inter Miami were also interested.

Sports director Markus Krösche says: “The fact that a player like Mario Götze decided to go with Eintracht Frankfurt with conviction after numerous offers speaks for the outstanding image that the club has developed in recent years. Götze added: “I’m really looking forward to Eintracht Frankfurt. Götze moved from Borussia Dortmund to Eindhoven in 2020 and was one of the regulars there. Overall, he appeared in 77 competitive games for PSV, scoring 18 goals and providing just as many assists. In April he won the Dutch Cup with the club.
