eg “I wanted to save Nancy any headaches. Mea culpa,” is how Frank Valentino responds to the accusations of his ex-fiancée Nancy. She claims she ended her relationship with the charming singer after he made off with her savings. “She tells lies and half-truths. I never lied to her, and I always did my best to pay the bills. I wanted to solve our financial problems on my own,” says Frank.
Frank is clear about his ‘OCMW apartment’: “I have never received a single cent from the OCMW. I rent a regular apartment in the city center of Bruges for 675 euros. I have now asked for easy payment plans, so that I can pay it off completely over time. What Nancy says are gross accusations. I didn’t prank her. She says I took her money, no, we used those savings to make payments. No one can withdraw 5,000 euros in cash. I regularly transferred money from the savings account to the current account to make payments. I have not made any payments other than payments in recent years.”
Financially we were in ruins. It makes sense that I used our savings account to make payments

But why didn’t Nancy know that? “I always spared her,” says Frank. “There was no point in telling her, ‘Baby, we’re not getting there.’ There was a good chance that she would freak out, that she would also have headaches. I wanted to spare her that. Mea culpa.”
“I showed Nancy, and her daughter who was still living with us at the time, the bills one evening. We had around 4,000 euros in fixed costs per month, for energy, rent, internet, insurance, supermarket, pharmacy, petrol… Nancy was the sole breadwinner at the time. If you have costs of 4,000 euros and an income of 1,500 euros, you are short 2,500 euros, right? Nancy says she didn’t know anything, but we have been using a joint account since October 2, 2022. So Nancy had been able to track all transactions for a long time. But she never cared about the payments, she never asked me if there was any mail. The first time she had her wages garnished was for a fine in her name. And then I paid for it.”

“I had a hard time during corona, that’s true,” the singer continues, “but I didn’t keep a cent for myself. I used all the money there was to make payments. But, and I readily admit this, I sometimes couldn’t pay bills because I was still paying previous bills. And then there are interest and high bailiff costs. Financially we were in ruins. It makes sense that I used our savings account to make payments. 2,500 euros every month, you don’t have to be Einstein to calculate that your savings will quickly run out. Many people have had to use up their savings during corona times, isn’t it a shame that we have had to do the same? Then shouldn’t I be pilloried because I wanted to help my family?”
