Franck Schneider, 51, who is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by a New York judge, has lodged an appeal in cassation against the judgment recently rendered by the investigating chamber of the court of call from Nancy. Ten days ago, the latter indeed validated the extradition request fifty-year-old to the United States. This former head of the Luxembourg secret services is allegedly involved in a vast cryptocurrency scam.
Arrested in Audun-le-Tiche on April 29, 2021, Franck Schneider had been released in November and placed under house arrest in his house in Joudreville, with an electronic bracelet.
The opinion of the Nancy Court of Appeal is only advisory since the final decision for this extradition will rest with the Prime Minister, with a possible appeal before the Council of State.
