During the last week, on the occasion of the presentation of the 2020/2021 wheat campaign, the formation of the new directive commission of Fertilize Civil Association was known.
The new president — replacing Jorge Bassi — is Francisco Llambías, who holds the position of coordinator of International Sales and Supply at Profertil. He will be seconded by Roberto Rotondaro, from the Argentine Cooperatives Association (ACA), as first vice president.
The rest of the CD was as follows: second vice president, Jorge Bassi (Bunge), secretary, Federico Roemer, YPF; prosecutor, Margarita González (Yara), member 1, Victoria Cornaglia (Stoller) and member 2, Eddy Fay (OCP). Germán Deza Marín (Nutrien) was elected as alternate member.
The Fertility Symposium 2021
At the same meeting of the formation of the DC, and under the slogan Science and technology for sustainable nutrition, it was announced that Fertilizar AC will hold the Fertility Symposium 2021 this year.
Due to the current context of health emergency, it will be virtual and with free and open access. It is planned as a cycle of three meetings: Wednesday May 12 and 19 and June 2, from 8.30 to 10.30.
The academic coordinator of the event is Dr. Fernando García.
Topics related to the management and opportunities for the responsible use of nutrients will be presented; the actuality and needs of food production and the role of nutrients; current innovations and the interaction of nutrients with the demands of society.
The proposal is to discuss science and technology for sustainable nutrition. There will be nine speakers – of national and international prestige – and the moderation of each session will be carried out by industry leaders.
The first meeting, on May 12, will focus on crop nutrition to improve food production and the second will deal with today’s innovations and ideas in fertilization. The last day, Wednesday June 2, will have the title We can produce more and better food.
“We will address the relationship between crop nutrition and food production: daily human nutrition and which, in turn, will be one of the entity’s work axes throughout the year,” said Ing. Agr. María Fernanda González Sanjuan, executive manager of Fertilizar AC.

The virtual event will be broadcast through the Agroconsultas platform and is aimed at producers, students, professionals and technicians, from public and private activity in the country and the region.
