Francisco Doyen presents in his networks a successful version of “Hallelujah”

“I chose this song because I loved it; It does not seem that it was created by a person ”, said the young singer-songwriter from our environment in contact with LA OPINION. The material, which was produced by Gonzalo Polidoro and a performance by Mery Martín, can now be enjoyed on the artist’s YouTube channel.

The young singer-songwriter from Rancagüense, Francisco Doyen, has just presented on his social networks a successful version of Leonard Cohen’s song, “Hallelujah”.
“I’m doing these jobs alone for my YouTube channel, although I’m still with the band ‘Isabella’,” he clarified in contact with LA OPINION.
Doyen commented that he chose this song because it impressed him: “It is a song that has magic and has something that other songs don’t have for me. Furthermore, it does not appear to have been created by one person. I always wanted to cover or reverse it. “
The young man assured that his reversal “is nothing like what at least I could hear,” however he confessed that he was inspired by the version of Jordan Smith, a singer who won on the program La Voz de Estados Unidos. “This version is short, with three stanzas. There’s also Jeff Buckley’s version, but he does several more verses. Leonard Cohen’s original version is very long, it has many stanzas. There is also the version of the vocal group Pentatonix, which is also more extensive. The Spanish version totally differs the lyrics from the original because they adapted it and gave it another approach ”, he said.
-The video clip is very well done, how was it made?
-From a demo that I had since May last year, I showed it to my friend Gonzalo Polidoro, who is a producer who makes music videos and works with imagery, and makes the cameras for soccer games on ESPN. He, totally convinced, told me ‘let’s make him a video’. I, who was thinking of making a home video, immediately thought that I had to improve the audio to the maximum for the proposal that I was making. Then we had several meetings to see how we were going to approach it. We read the lyrics, we read the interpretations, and we looked for a way around it so that it has more to do with today, because the lyrics have old tints, things that are no longer used or made today, and it also talks about religion.
We also summoned a friend of mine, Mery Martín, who acts very well and is very pretty, has a lot of charisma and in front of the cameras ‘breaks her’. Later we got together with her and we were throwing ideas and thus the script was put together. We scripted everything that would be the images and places, and we ended up using various locations in Pergamino and Rancagua. In Pergamino we recorded in a car scrap yard located on the road to Rosario, and in Rancagua we did it in the access, in a forest, on a road and at my house. With everything filmed, we got together to edit with Gonzalo and we had about nine hours working on it.

Projects
This habit of doing solo songs is something that Doyen has been doing for two years. “In this year that is just beginning I am planning to make a single that has two songs. I’ve already started recording them at home and I hope, hopefully this year, I can release those two solo songs. Also try to keep growing on social media. This is essential in these moments that you cannot go out to play live. I invite you to know my platforms: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Tik Tok. They all have the same username, which is Francisco Doyen, ”he said.
Closing the note, Doyen mentioned that the vehicle, a Torino, was loaned by José Alfonso Giuliano for filming. “There are many family and friends who have been helping to make this happen. I thank Alfonso Giuliano, Mariano Abrate, Jerónimo Rodríguez, Ariel Doyen, Andrea Riguetti, Marito Agustín López, Daniel Tamaro, Celeste Marian, Belén Doyen, Alejandro Matías Belardi, Ema Belardi and Daniela Filomeno ”, he concluded.
