A few days ago, at least seven unarmed people, including a nun who worked in the health sector, were killed in a rebel attack in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Francis said: “We are witnessing the horrific events that continue to bloody the Democratic Republic of Congo. I strongly condemn this unacceptable attack that took place in the days preceding Maboya, North Kivu province, where unarmed people were killed, among them a nun who has operated in the health sector We pray for the victims and their families, as well as for the Christian community and the people of this region, which has been subjected to violence for a long time ”.

The Holy Father has invited believers from all over the world to pray also for Ukraine. “And let’s not forget to pray and we will continue to pray for the tortured Ukraine too,” he said. “The Lord protect these people and guide us all on the path of sustainable peace”.

After greeting the young people, the sick and the newlyweds who arrived in St. Peter’s Square to participate in the general audience, the Pope encouraged all the faithful to pray the Rosary in a special way. He wanted this simple and stimulating Marian prayer to show everyone how to follow Christ with trust and disinterest.
