Another hell of a slippage for Francis Lalanne. It was in Nice, during a demonstration opposing health measures, that the singer created a huge controversy. So has he really gone too far this time around?
Since Sunday March 28, the artist has been at the center of a very virulent wave of criticism. Indeed, everything took root during a rally in Nice where nearly 350 people demonstrated against the restrictions and other health measures. The 62-year-old singer quickly stood out by haranguing the crowd with anti-government remarks: “The anxiety-provoking messages, delivered all day long by the government, are there to make people psychologically sick, and it is deliberate” chants – does he before proposing to “commit an offense.”
In a video that has now been around the web, and posted on Twitter, we can then see the singer inciting passers-by with words quite unusual in this period: “I suggest you commit a crime, under the eyes of the police who will say nothing. I suggest you kiss each other. And share, share! May everyone who will see the video in the streets kiss each other! “
The images have inevitably shocked and indignant a vast majority of Internet users. In the midst of a third wave of the Covid, extremely deadly and worrying, the words of the singer with the long hair have caused consternation.
“It’s criminal, it’s shameful …. It’s an insult to the deaths of covid and to all the people who are struggling to contain the epidemic”, laments a user. “When I see Lalanne, a famous quote from Einstein comes to mind: ‘Two things are endless: the Universe and human stupidity. But, as far as the Universe is concerned, I don’t have one yet. acquired absolute certainty ‘”, another philosopher, in the midst of other completely bewildered users of the social network.
Francis Lalanne’s attacks on government management and in particular that of Emmanuel Macron are not recent since last January, the singer who had already expressed his support for the yellow vests, called for the dismissal of the head of the State before being targeted by an investigation for “attacking the fundamental interests of the nation”. The justice reproaches him in particular of “facts of public provocation not followed by effect”.
For his part, the singer wanted the French people to mobilize “against tyranny” by launching a call for civil disobedience. Facts punishable by five years’ imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 euros. How far will it go?
