He had been wanted since December 15. Suspected of being the main actor in a vast traffic of meat between Beaune and Belfort, a 26-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, December 22 at Bâle-Mulhouse airport. Usually residing in the Territoire de Belfort, he was arrested on his return from Morocco.
To our colleagues from the Public Good, the Dijon prosecutor clarified that the meat trader had been presented to the examining magistrate, indicted before being placed in pre-trial detention.

A long-term investigation
This is the ninth person indicted in this sprawling case. December 15, a wide net had made it possible to arrest eight suspects after a long-term investigation which mixed concealed work, financial offenses and fraud. In Offemont, the intervention of the GIGN had not gone unnoticed in the Arsot district.
But the main suspect could not be found. Declared on the run, he was picked up a week later when he got off the plane. But his arrest does not end the investigation which is continuing under a rogatory commission in order to list the details of the charges against each of the suspects.
