Franceville: stress in the workplace at the heart of a workshop in Moanda – AGP

Franceville, July 19, 2023 (AGP) – The Ministry of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, responsible for Human Rights and Gender Equality, through its General Directorate of Well-Being, opened on Tuesday July 18 at Moanda, in the province of Haut-Ogooué (Southeast), an awareness workshop on the fight against stress in the workplace. A seminar organized for employees of the Ogooué Mining Company (COMILOG), and agents of the Provincial Department of Social Action.

It is within the framework of the “Well-being and quality of life” program, started in Libreville last February, that a team from the General Directorate of Well-being made the trip to Moanda, from July 18 to 19, 2023. It was a question of continuing the said program, by organizing an awareness-raising workshop on the fight against stress in the professional environment, for agents of the Ogooué mining company (COMILOG), and agents of the Provincial Department of Social Action.

Initiated in collaboration with COMILOG, this workshop, which saw the intervention of several experts, aimed to popularize the concept of well-being and psychosocial practices, to make agents aware of the causes and consequences of stress in the professional environment, in to improve the quality of life at work.

In her opening speech, the representative of the General Directorate of Welfare, Judith Carine Akounda, affirmed that the well-being of workers, absolute will of the Head of State, Ali Bongo Ondimba, is an activity which aims the systemic approach, the synergy of skills and the pooling of experiences, in order to create a partnership with COMILOG for support in popularizing the concept of well-being and the quality of life of populations, in all sectors of activities in general, and particularly in the professional environment.

The representative of COMILOG, Damien Deschamps, head of human resources, was delighted to have been chosen by the Ministry of Justice, via its General Directorate of Well-being, for the organization of these days which aim to fight against stress in the workplace. ”COMILOG is avant-garde on this subject through its occupational health service, a multidisciplinary service, which will present the COMILOG model to you through practical cases that deal with these issues”.

For this first day, the recipients were interviewed by Nelly Martine Inimba, agent at the General Directorate of Welfare. The latter presented the Tree of Life, a program designed by the General Directorate of Welfare, for a period of five years. It has its roots in the Ministry of Justice, is deployed in four branches, school, family, professional and environmental health.

Ms. Guigui Allie Charlène, clinical psychologist and psychopathology, provided support on stress in the workplace. A presentation focusing on good and bad stress, the causes of stress in the workplace, the consequences of stress on health and safety, ways to combat stress.

In her communication Béatrice Rothan, expert in quality of life and well-being at work, dwelt on the solutions, through positive psychology via the PERMA method (positive emotions, commitment, positive relationships, meaning, feeling of accomplishment), emotional skills and the CARE program (coherence, attention, relationship, commitment).
