Francesco Paolantoni, Neapolitan actor and comedian, criticized the comedy broadcast on Rai on social media.
“I’m not paying you”, a famous comedy by Eduardo De Filippo, was interpreted, among others, by Sergio Castellitto. Among those who did not like the revisiting of the work there is also Francesco Paolantoni. The Neapolitan comedian and actor in fact published a post on Facebook writing: “Another comedy.” Many comments in support of Paolantoni, most of them directed towards the interpretation of Sergio Castelitto, considered “not very suitable” to play the protagonist role.
Francesco Paolantoni clarified his thoughts by responding to a comment: “Is there really a need for an explanation? I don’t think so. And I don’t even think that Eduardo shouldn’t be remade. Or rather, revisited? It may be, but transforming a perfect comedy into a dark and distressing drama really isn’t.”
And hater Francesco Paolantoni, however, did not like the comedian’s message and commented offensively: “It’s not like you’re any better at acting. You’re just good at clowning around!”
