Francesca won Temptation Island (and Twitter wants her on the throne): vote 10
On Temptation Island there are no winners, it is known. After all, it already seems a lot to get out of it whole. Not even together, just whole as individuals. Francesca, however, is the exception that confirms the unfortunate rule. She arrived “crystal”, she came out with a very high head, getting rid of her ballast boyfriend Manuel once and for all. A horror subject who in two and a half years of relationship had only managed to leave her five times by betraying her beyond belief and still able today, during the confrontation bonfire she requested to unleash him, to flaunt a certain self-confidence. He poses, in fact, as if he wanted compliments for having managed not to quail with anyone else in fourteen days of reality. When the videos clearly show how he had aimed at the temptress Greta, “unfortunately” already flirting with Mirko. The little man defined Francesca di lei as her “safe haven”, in the sense of a “good girl” who “is always there for me when I come back to her”. In front of such sublime sonnets, ours has decided to say goodbye to him forever (we hope!), freezing him. If, at first, he still ordered her to “don’t speak meanly, otherwise I’ll leave”, when he realized he no longer had any power over his partner, he cringed and, before seeing her go (without ever turning around, like Vin Diesel when he leaves behind an explosion in action films) he begged her for a hug, through tears. Manuel wants his freedom, but the truly free one between the two is certainly Francesca. Too bad, however, the reality show loses the only competitor able to express themselves in current Italian. Manuel wanted the cake and the “cuckolded” girlfriend: vote 3
A temptress had even told him: “You’re 31 years old, it’s convenient for you to go about your business and at the same time always have your good girlfriend ‘cuckolded’ when you come home”. Nothing less? Instead of trying to escape from his responsibilities, the unfaithful Manuel has fully embraced this thesis, as if this dagger perfectly defined his deepest self. And, indeed, this is. Among the optionals of such a nightmarish boyfriend, even a not bad arrogance: he is convinced that his partner Francesca is unable to notice anyone else because she is too blinded by his love. When the videos that Bisciglia shows him contradict the arrogant axiom, the faithless professional also says he’s happy: “At least he’s not too bad for having lost me, I was afraid he wouldn’t be able to see that there’s not only me in the world”. With an ego capable of dwarfing a flock of peacocks, Manuel is the man you wish you never met. And watch out because he is now on the loose. Even at the confrontation bonfire, while he was rightly being dumped definitively, he prophesied misfortunes: “Francesca, you will see that in a few months we will meet and you will thank me because the good you feel for me will remain with you forever”. Diamonds are forever, Manuel. Certainly not the (face of) Tolla.
Mirko falls in love “for the first time” (as if it were Dawson’s Creek): vote 8
It might seem impossible to side with an unfaithful Temptation Island boyfriend. And yet, Mirko has managed to subvert every logic that common sense imposes. Twenty-six year old exasperated by a gas chamber relationship with the beautiful but terrible Pearl, within the reality show he ends up falling in love with the temptress Greta. The two look at the stars at night lying on the beach, they write sweet words secretly from the cameras and also in English, for further concern, as if it were impenetrable Sanskrit. “It’s the first time a woman looks at me like this”, “It’s the first time I feel so good”, “It’s the first time I feel all these emotions” he repeats in a loop as if the record had enchanted him. In reality, he is simply enchanted by Greta and looks like a sixteen year old. He speaks of them as two “magic” who meet and can not wait to “start the film.” Stuck in this sort of out-of-time Dawson’s Creek, it’s nice to see him carefree. Entering tighter than a violin string, he finally found the serenity to say goodbye, through a bonfire of comparison, to “his” ill-tempered Perla who is amazed by the (well-deserved) welcome. Mirko and Greta leave the reality show together and maybe they will last as long as a cat on the ring road. But, from a television point of view, we can’t complain: seeing a love being born is always heart-pounding. Hoping not to drown.
Pearl, left and discontented, perhaps she will learn to make a washing machine: vote 2
“Ungrateful, superficial and immature”. With these words Mirko defines his girlfriend Perla, starting a bonfire of confrontation that will soon take on the contours of an episode of Forum. Impossible to blame him. From the very first episode, she accuses him of being “apathetic and boring”. The two live together but she doesn’t want to lie down next to her because “I don’t like how she breathes and her heart beats too fast”. In addition, ours made the supreme sacrifice of moving to his house, leaving her hometown and establishing that from that moment the cavalier servente would have to love, manage and look after her forever. In continuous lamentatio, Perla comes up with ridiculous accusations (if they weren’t horror), moreover expressed in lame Italian.
The circus contortion of engaged couples to avoid kisses: vote 8
In Rome it is said to “make a head” when a person moves away to avoid receiving a kiss on the mouth. On Temptation Island, however, real professionals take the field. In particular, we are referring to boyfriends who, keeping an immaculate “record” in front of the cameras, launch themselves into contortions worthy of Cirque du Soleil in order to avoid touching the lips of the temptresses. Even when it is clear that they themselves do not want anything else. Let’s take Mirko’s example, but it applies more or less to everyone. While the girlfriends sneak below deck or cover up like in La Casa di Carta they weren’t even aiming for a robbery at the State Mint, the male counterparts have the super power to remain attached to the temptress of their liking without ever kissing her. The result is poses that recall the mythological Snake of the Nokia 3310 and interlocking-non-interlocking really tasty to watch. Out of inspiration, but above all manifest uselessness. Whispering sweet words and promising a future together with another woman is equivalent to being unfaithful, even if you physically have your head under her right armpit. At this point, we might as well let go, right? No. They probably fear that a referee will appear with a yellow card for pitch invasion or that he doesn’t explain himself. However, it doesn’t work like that.
Ale, Vittoria, Daniele and the “desaparecidos” of this episode: vote 5
Ale, together with Francesca, is the heroine of this edition. She is now free from her nightmare boyfriend Federico, unfortunately the penultimate episode of Temptation Island did not give her even a second of visibility. The authors preferred to give space to the two crunchy bonfires of comparisons overflowing in farewell, but an entire evening without the (fortunately) ex of the horrible Federico is essentially a theft of time. These two, by the way, are not the only (non) couple to have disappeared from the radar. Nothing has also been seen of Daniele, the mountain of muscles with a heart of cream nicknamed by social media ‘Lenticchio 2’ for his resemblance to a former contestant in the reality show, and his girlfriend Vittoria who hates him but still expects a child from him “in November”. Both engaged in other flirtations in their respective villages, we don’t know how their schemes continued. We won’t lose sleep over it, of course, but neither is this a way to abandon the faithful (at least they) viewers, it must be said.
Greta, from temptress to lost in love (or so it seems): vote 7.5
Being a single tempter is hard work, but someone has to do it. Igor is well aware that he found himself “having” to leave the reality show hand in hand with Perla after having spent the time together for a stroll on bachata and an afternoon in a boutique. Greta, on the other hand, seems to know less well, having entered the reality show to seduce the unfortunate boyfriends of the moment and coming out in this penultimate episode together with one of them, Mirko, with whom she seems to be truly madly in love. Their “exteriors” from Dawson’s Creek show them as two slightly overgrown sixteen-year-olds struggling with their very first heartbeats. When he goes to the confrontation bonfire to leave his fiancée Perla permanently, Greta promises to wait for him (and where was she supposed to go?), then, as soon as he leaves, she throws herself on the ground crying (for some Twitter users, “dry” or fake). When her beloved returns, she asks him how it went and when she discovers that the boy has kept his word (there should be a national holiday), he confesses: “You made me cry all the tears in the world while you weren’t there, I was dying!”. Having survived the nerve-wracking wait, she heads towards what we imagine to be a bright future with her’s Mirko her’s. Mirko who, having just said goodbye to her fiancée, embraces her Greta again, whispering the following sweetness to her: “Have I already thanked you today? Because, you know, I really have to thank you.” Should it all be fake, we fell for it. Full.
