Francesca Pascale, former partner of Silvio Berlusconi and now civil rights activist, also stands against the differentiated autonomy of the Meloni government. And he does so by registering with the ANPI at a banquet in the Alberone area of Rome. Pascale expressed strong criticism towards the reform proposed by the League, in particular by the minister Roberto Calderoli, calling it a “disguised secession”. He underlined how Italy is already marked by profound disparities between North and South, highlighting the fewer opportunities for life, study, work and access to care for those born in the South. According to Pascale, the approval of this law contradicts the values of national unity and he accused the other majority parties, Forza Italia and Fratelli d’Italia, of inconsistency in supporting the reform. “You cannot call yourself Brothers of Italy and then divide Italians into children and stepchildren,” he said. Pascale launched an appeal to citizens to oppose the reform: “Can we ever dismantle the country due to the propaganda whim of a single party?”.
