France’s Real Estate Market Shows Little Signs of Spring Activity in 2021

Although prices stopped falling in France in May, the usual upturn in activity in the spring is not really on the agenda this year. “Even the spring of 2022, however sluggish, had done better with a price increase of 2.6% for the whole of France, + 2.9% for the cities of the Top 50 and + 2.2% for rural areas”, compares Thomas Lefebvre, scientific director at Meilleurs Agents, at the origin of these monthly data. At 3,175 euros, the average price per square meter in France did not move in May, a sign that the transaction market did not rebound as hoped after a still very calm winter in the sector.
