France’s First Record of COVID-19 Cases More Than 100K!

Jakarta

It is the first time France has recorded daily cases of more than 100,000. The highest record was reported in the last 24 hours, namely 104,611 cases as of Saturday (12/25/2021).

The number of patients being treated intensively for COVID-19 has also increased. The total is 3,282 patients.

President Emmanuel Macron and the government concerned will now discuss the next steps regarding a pandemic strategy, amid growing concerns about the effects of the soaring spread of Omicron.

Several regional regulations have been tightened again. Many of them have re-implemented the mandatory mask rule, not only in indoor public spaces.

So far, France has recorded 122,546 deaths from the Corona virus. Already 76.5 percent of the population in France is fully vaccinated.

Asia

Recently, an increase in COVID-19 cases has also occurred in China. As of Saturday (12/25/2021), the country recorded the highest increase in cases in the last four months. Most of the cases were donated by the city of Xi’an.

Hence, the Chinese authorities imposed a strict lockdown on 13 million people in Xi’an last Thursday.

Quoted from DW News, there were 140 new cases, 87 of which were local transmissions, reported on Christmas Eve. Most of these are in Xi’an, although cases have been kept to a minimum thanks to a strict zero-Covid strategy that quickly zoned the outbreak.
