Austria confidently reached the main round of the European Handball Championship and is the third opponent of the German national team there. The co-host of the final round of Bundesliga professionals Robert Weber (SG Nordhorn-Lingen / 7 goals) and Nikola Bilyk (THW Kiel / 6) celebrated their third win in the third game with 32:28 (18:12) against North Macedonia and takes 2: 0 points in the next tournament phase. Germany, on the other hand, starts like the rest of the group rivals without a point: from the group phase, only those points are taken that were earned against opponents who were also qualified for the main round. Germany clearly lost to Spain with 26:33 (11:14).
